Quercus aegilops (Valonia oak)

The oak tree is a long-lived tree (it can live up to 500 years). It has large dimensions, reaching up to 50 meters in height, but slow growth. In fact, it is said to take 60 years to reach its first fruitfulness. What makes the tree stand out is its resistance to soil and climate conditions (warm and cold), but also its ability to burn slowly, an important feature in areas with a high risk of fire. In addition, its strong root system helps to retain the soil and prevent erosion.
