Tilia (Lime Tree)

The lime tree (tilia) is one of the best-known trees in urban and non-urban landscapes. It has large dimensions, with a height of 30 meters and a width of 20 meters, creating a strong shade. In the autumn and winter months it loses its leaves. The latter are heart-shaped and are of great aesthetic interest, as they reveal both surfaces when the wind blows. The upper part is green and the lower part is fluffy and silvery. Another aesthetically beautiful feature of the lime tree is its silvery-brown trunk.  Its flowers have a delicate fragrance, giving a pleasant experience to anyone who passes near it. It is very hardy in the cold, while seeking sunlight. In horticulture it is used in tree rows, parks, squares, but large gardens individually, catching the eye of the visitor.
